My lovable Cousins

Remember what it was like to be a child? That fanciful feeling of discovery, which serendipity lurked around every possible junction. The simplest things-like touching the a christmas ornament for the first time-are memories from my childhood that I hold dear.

Over the weekend I was blessed with a most privileged shoot.  I had the opportunity of shooting several of my most favorite people on earth. My super talented and sweet cousin Daniele hit me up in her usual, “check out my vision mode” for some family pictures for this years holiday season. Per usual, I was more than happy to oblige.

I mean, a trip off to her house is not only a nice get away from the east side of Columbus, but a trip to her house means I get to spend some much needed time with my littlest cousin, Noah.  He’s growing so fast.

For the sake of not sounding cliche enough I sincerely wish I could take a peek into his little mind and understand what his actions are saying. Every expression seems to want to convey SO much.

Well, hopefully that day will come sooner rather than later. In the mean time, I’ll continue to document his formative years knowing one day we’ll be able to laugh about them.

:)

Jason - Hey Carl – Thanks for your kind words and spectacular images of Noah. We are extremely blessed to have such an extraordinary and talented person for a cousin. As I mentioned on the drive home, you have become the family historian (whether you like it or not!), and I for one can’t wait to see the body of work you compile throughout the years, not just for our family, but for all those blessed souls that you will encounter on your journey through this life. Time is the most precious thing we have, and that is what you have given us. One day, in the not-to-distant future, Noah will take flight and pursue his dreams and aspirations. When that day arrives, it will be made much easier due to the presence of your images…. our own personal time capsule!

Carl McKinney - Thank you SO much Jason for this eloquent comment.

I feel deeply humbled and proud of the title “family historian” and hope God allows me to continue to document people’s special moments with unobtrusive sincerity and selflessness. I really want to thank you and Dainele again for entrusting me with your families precious memories.
