This is a tributary post to an online service that I miss dearly. Muxtape once shined as an independent beacon of art, fostering with its growth, a fresh system of tools for the avid fan, on a quest for musical discovery.
- EL*7 Kingdom MUSIC — Sunshine (Sky walking interlude) – a beat created one morning, while at moms house. The initial beat was created in about 15 minutes. My process is fast and I rarely go back to tweak beats.
- Dwele — Brandi (feat. Slum Village) – One of my favorite Dwele tracks. It’s a tribute to an old Slum Village vol. 2 track called Go ladies.
- EL*7 Kingdom MUSIC — Fit for Kings – Another beat I created one morning. A quick Earth, Wind, and Fire sample, some drums, and voila!
- Jay Dee — Track 04 – Beat tape donut.
- Flying Lotus — My Room Is White (Flying Lotus Remix) – I love what Flylo was able to accomplish with this track. It’s a great track to run or for studying.
- Afta-1 — Honey Dip – Afta-1 is a relatively new artist I discovered while perusing through myspace. His music is a mellow mix of ill drums, synths, and samples. Music to my ears every listen.
- 14KT — Cherish – My favorite producer coming out of the D. He’s a believer too, which, really shows forth in his humble personality.
- Justice — D.A.N.C.E. – Bangin dance heavy groove. Karim and I are huge Justice fanboys.
- The Smiths — This Charming Man – Merrari first exposed me to this band while in high school. I love their song titles.
- Yeah Yeah Yeahs — Tick – Aggressive alt rock. I love her voice as she belts out these staccato like tones.
- Interpol — All Fired Up – The breakdowns in the song are powerful!
- Bilal — Something To Hold On To – really slick beat. Bilal came correct on this entire album.
Oh, how i miss this service. Darn you RIAA and darn you large music companies!!!!
