Where I’ve been

It’s almost finished but, I couldn’t contain myself anymore!!! I’ve been….. (eh hem) let me rephrase that. Peedie and I have been tirelessly working to try and come up with a few new things and we’re close, we’re really close. Anyone who knows me fully understands that I have been devising to create a more appealing blog design. A design that represents more of my design sensibilities, minimalist tastes, and appreciation for order and cleanliness. A design that one, links itself to the overall look and feel of my branding, but, two, allows for more functionality, customization, and expansion as my needs change throughout time.

After having been originally inspired by powazek’s Depo-clean theme I was even more emphatic about the theme when I saw the potenial look that could be acheived by visiting wordbk.com. The next thing was to figure out just exactly how I wanted my branding materials to work which, would provide the necessary catalyst for the character of the blog. Peedie’s a genius and it took her all of 30 minutes to complete that part.

I purchased the domain name carlmckinney.com, along side hosting from Totalchoicehosting.com and began familiarizing myself with services, cpanel, and options. Peedie has used total choice for several years and recommended them highly. Their built in access for the full version of WordPress made the deal an easy choice. Secondly, I began to try and grasp, albeit I wasn’t holding on very tightly, the concept of css, php, headers, footers, blogads, and all kinds of other tech stuff that, I really had no reason of even looking at. I think my cpu almost quit on me several times over the course of me trying to work on aspects of the site. But she loves me still.

So finally it’s here. A new, clean, orderly blog design that I can proudly say is mine. As I mentioned earlier, we’re not totally finished but we’re really pleased with the progress as this is a truly inspiring time of my life. Thank you for being apart of that.
