Today is a very weird day. On one hand, we, (the graduating members of my MBA cohort) were able to once again fellowship and laugh as if we in school once again. But we were also saddened by the departure of one of our classmates, every bodies favorite classmate, Tonya Thomas.
Around Tonya, there was never a dull moment. She was one of those people who, at the drop of a hat, could switch the mood of a room from serious and somber to happy and joyful. She had that spirit about her.
I was in a small group with her for our first b school assignment which entailed our teams having to act out our respective visions for the next change wave. I knew she was cool when our group decided to interpolate the movie Back to the Future and she wanted to play the role of Mercedes, a fictitious character from the past. What a great presentation that was!
Here are some shots from our going away dinner we had at Champs. I think I speak for the group when I say that we are going to sincerely miss you and we thank you for brightening up, not just our days but our lives with your spirit.
